Redbox New Releases September 2015

Pixels

It is amazing what some people can think up. This one is at the top of the Redbox new releases list for its creativity. You never know what Adam Sandler is going to do next. The plot consists of four kids from the 80’s who spend their young lives saving the world in video arcades. When aliens attempt to take over the plant using video game models, the four kids (now adults) must save the world using their arcade skills from childhood. The movie stars Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Michelle Monaghan, Josh Gad, and Peter Dinklage. It is rated PG-13.

American Ultra

Ok, here’s another creative one for you. Two teenagers think their lives are limited to getting high, writing unsuccessful graphic novels, and dreams of traveling, but everything changes when the male teenager realizes that he is actually a sleeper agent created by the CIA which now wants to destroy him. (The CIA is always trying to destroy what they make seems like) So now the two teenagers are fighting to stay alive and save the city along the way of course. The movie stars Kristen Stewart, Jesse Eisenberg, Topher Grace, John Leguizamo, and Connie Britton. It is rated R.

Terminator

You would think it was time for Arnold Schwarzenegger to retire on the beach, but he is still trying to get in on the action with his latest Terminator movie. And really, it’s not that bad if you are a fan. It is amazing what computer graphics can do to keep an actor alive and thriving. You may want to watch the older films in order to follow the plot, but if you are just in it to see Schwarzenegger, I wouldn’t bother. The movie stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Clarke, Emilia Clarke, J.K. Simmons, and Jai Courtney. It is rated PG-13.

Tomorrowland

Here’s a great one for the kids. A young girl finds a magic pin that opens her eyes to an entirely new world. She is fascinated but she cannot hold on the vision and searches out George Clooney’s character to learn more about the unknown world.  The two are soon under attack and must fly off in the rocket bathtub. That’s right, the bathtub. The movies has some really creative elements and is a fun, action-packed flick for the kids. It stars George Clooney, Britt Robertson, Hugh Laurie, Tim McGraw, and Raffey Cassidy. It is rated PG.

The Gift

Jason Bateman is a man of many talents. He’s great in comedy, drama, or in this case, thriller. His character in this movie is happily married and the couple have just bought a new home. Everything is going smoothly in their life until Bateman’s character, Simon, runs into a high school friend. This friend gives Simon the creeps and he attempts to end the renewed friendship but that is when the truth comes out. Simon has a history with this “friend” that is not pleasant and now it seems the friend is taking revenge. Life is turned upside down as war begins between the two. The movie stars Jason Bateman, Rebecca Hall, Joel Edgerton, Busy Philipps, and Allison Tolman.
